Where's The Beach?

I live in the Seattle area where we have not yet experianced our summer weather this year but are patiently waiting for sunshine, warmth and the right to wear sundresses. It's July 1st today, rainy, cold and no sign of blue sky today or tomorrow. Now if you're from Maui, like my friend Lynn who is visiting me for the week, this might be a lovely break but for us folks who've seen our share of rain in the last ten months, it is a disappointment. We wait all year for our three months of non-rain and when it is shortened to three weeks, we get grumpy and find our good sportmanship challenged.
According to the weather channel we may have warmish temps on the 4th of July which would be lovely timing for all those off work. If that happens, let's all run outside with our hopeful faces aimed at the sky and say a little prayer while we're in the position, to ask for summer. While other states east of Montana contend with scorching temps, thunderstorms and power outages we have cold temps, drizzle and power for our space heaters. Today Lynn and I will go to a craft store to buy things to do in the rain and if there is a break in the weather before she leaves on the 5th, we'll head to the beach or go for a hike or have lunch at a sidewalk cafe or anything that involves not wearing a coat.
FYI: TomKat are splitting and I'm happy for Katie and Suri. Just thought I'd throw my two cents in on that one.
